about me

I’m a recent graduate of Access Code, a 10 month Google sponsored Android Development fellowship program, where I learned Java, Android SDK, REST APIs, Git, data structures, algorithms, and tech principles & culture. Before Access Code, I spent several years designing books at publishing houses in New York. What especially excites me about being a mobile developer is the fact that I will always have an opportunity to improve the product. As a print designer, when a book was printed, it was done, but with mobile apps there are always opportunities for improvement and communication with users to help inform how the product can evolve and adapt to changing needs.

I’m actively looking for an Android Developer position or internship and am most interested in working for a company that develops products and services for creative people. As a dedicated and disciplined self learner, I’m eager to learn from and contribute to a team that values mentoring new programming talent.

When I’m not developing apps, I design wedding stationery and run Hip Hop Hacktivist, a free social coding event that uses the appeal and the influence of the hip-hop culture to advocate tech to minority youth.
